Do I need to e-mail or call to confirm my tour?
No, if you have booked online through our website and have received a confirmation voucher, there is no need to e-mail or call to confirm your tour.
Do we need to collect tickets before the tour?
No, you do not need to pick up or receive tickets. When booking your tour on our website, you will receive a confirmation voucher, which is the only proof of payment you need. On the day of your tour, your guide will provide you with the tickets necessary to enter the sights.
I did not receive my confirmation e-mail, why?
If you do not receive the confirmation voucher within a few minutes of booking, please check your junk/spam/bulk e-mail folder just in case the message was delivered there instead of your inbox. If you have not received a confirmation for your booking, please contact us so we can update you on the progress of your reservation.
Can I change the date of my tour after booking?
Yes, you can request to change the date of your tour up to 72 hours prior to tour commencement. Please note, however, that many of our tours sell out weeks in advance and changes of tour dates will be accepted only upon availability.
Do I need to bring my confirmation voucher to the tour?
No, you do not have to bring the confirmation voucher with you to the tour, but we do strongly recommend that you do as it contains helpful instructions on how to find the meeting point. If you cannot print the e-mail, keeping it on your smart phone works just as well.
What should I bring on my tour?
There are no must-brings, but having the confirmation e-mail handy is helpful when trying to find the tour meeting point. As most tours include a lot of walking, wearing comfortable shoes is always recommended to ensure that sore feet won’t cut your experience short. In the warmer months, a hat, bottle of water and sunscreen can help make the stifling Roman sun a bit more bearable. Last, but not least, bringing your own headsets on the tour is the best way to elevate the sound quality of the tour.
Do your tours run in bad weather?
Yes, all tours run in rain, shine, snow or hail. Please be sure to check the weather forecast on the day of your tour and dress accordingly. On some very rare occasions, when the weather is particularly dramatic, some outdoor sites may be closed. On such occasions we will, if possible, contact you in advance with an alternative tour date or itinerary.
How will I recognize my tour guide?
Our tour guides are always waiting at the designated meeting point 15 minutes prior to the start time of the tour. To make sure that you can find them easily, they hold a sign with the “What a Life Tours” logo on it. For our Vatican Tours, you’ll meet your tour guide directly in our office, just a 2 minute walk from the entrance of the Vatican Museums.
What happens if I am running late for my tour?
Please, do not be late! In most cases, late arrivals cannot be accommodated as we have to respect the time slots at the sights. We recommend arriving at the tour meeting point at least 15 minutes prior to the start time. It’s always best to check with your concierge or ourselves about how much time you will need to make it to the tour on time and allow some extra buffer time. If you have difficulty finding the meeting point or are delayed along the way, please call our emergency number +39 334 7273299, so that we can assist you and notify the guide.
Should I tip my guide?
Tipping is not required or expected but if you had a great time and want to thank your tour guide, gratuities are very much appreciated.
